Inspector Certification ends with a flurry in 2010

January 4, 2011

Since it’s now a requirement that all  City of Los Angeles Deputy Methane Barrier Inspectors (DMBIs)  need to be certified by every gas barrier membrane  manufacturer, the Terra-Petra inspection staff spent the end of 2010 updating all of our individual manufacturer certifications.

We believe that maintaining these certifications is an important practice as manufacturers will launch new product lines or update warranty requirements from time to time and so it’s important to stay up to date on all the latest developments.

Based on the many years of experience that we have inspecting these membranes in the field we’re often asked by the manufacturers for our opinion on a developing product line or on ways to improve the training/certification procedures.  Naturally, we’re always happy to offer up our opinions on these matters–since their industry and business is a huge part of ours.

Membrane manufacturers are also developing more  hands on training and certification processes for their individual product lines and Terra-Petra supports this movement!

Our goal is to provide the most knowledgeable inspectors in the industry.  The more information we can learn about a product in training the better position we’ll be in to verify the correct installation when we’re in the field.
